How often MEGA Millions numbers repeated

Past drawings can show patterns in the record, but they cannot tell us which numbers will win next.

Numbers drawn most often in this study
Historical counts—not predictions for the next drawing.
Did the next drawing reuse a number?
59 of 163 drawing-to-drawing comparisons reused at least one main number from the drawing immediately before it. This does not identify which number will repeat; it shows what happened when every next drawing was checked the same way.
Most frequent historical numbers
The longest bar means “appeared most often in this study,” not “more likely next time.”
Number pairs drawn together most often
Each count is the number of official drawings containing both main numbers. Extra or bonus balls are not included. Historical pair counts do not predict the next drawing.
Repeats, streaks, and uneven counts are normal in lottery history. These numbers describe what happened; they do not tell us what will win next.
Read the full plain-language explanation
This report looks at how often the main numbers appeared, which number pairs appeared together, which numbers repeated, which numbers were next to each other, and how the full winning lines were shaped across 164 checked drawings. It explains what happened during that time. It does not claim that a past pattern changes the next fair drawing.

2. Numbers that appeared again Open details
We compare the main numbers in one drawing with the main numbers in the drawing that came next. Extra or bonus numbers are counted separately.
What random drawings usually look like
22.7% of our fair-lottery comparisons had at least one repeat. These computer-made drawings use the same number ranges and drawing rules as the lottery. The study details include what another researcher needs to repeat the comparison.
Past record: 163 drawing pairs. Fair-lottery comparison: 20,000 computer-made drawing pairs.
What this does not mean
Seeing repeats in the past does not make a repeat more or less likely next time. This report explains history; it is not advice about which numbers to play.
7. Did the lottery’s rules change? Open details
We checked that each drawing fits the lottery’s current number ranges and number count. That does not prove the lottery used those same rules for every older drawing.
We do not mix drawings played under different rules unless the exact change date has been checked.
9. Drawing records we used or left out Open details
We count an exact copy of the same result only once. If two different results claim to be the same drawing, we leave both out until the conflict is resolved.
10. How we checked the study, its limits, and downloads Open details
How we built the report
We used the official drawing history for lottery code 113. We counted an exact copy of the same result only once. If two different results claim to be the same drawing, we stop the report until the conflict is resolved.
How we made a fair comparison
We created 20,000 sets of random drawings using the same number ranges and drawing rules as this lottery. The calculation details are included in the study download so another researcher can repeat the check.
